DAVID GAMBLE
David Gamble, a London-born artist now residing in New Orleans, boasts a diverse portfolio spanning paintings, works on paper, and photographs showcased worldwide. With a notable career in editorial photography during the 1980s and 90s, he captured iconic figures like Stephen Hawking and Margaret Thatcher.
Gamble's accolades include the Kodak Award for Best Photographer in Europe and a World Press Photo Award. He even had the rare opportunity to photograph Andy Warhol's concealed home. Recently, Sotheby's auctioned off two of Gamble's rare photographs from inside Warhol's apartment. His work, including a significant piece in the Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, continues to garner attention, as seen in his 2019 film "Esplanade," showcased at prominent venues like the Museum of Modern Art, New Orleans. Gamble remains active in both photography and painting pursuits.
